QA Automation Salaries in "Silicon Valley North"
The salary landscape for Quality Assurance in Toronto is sharply divided. While manual testing roles are increasingly paid modestly, Automation Engineers (SDETs) command excellent salaries due to their ability to accelerate release cycles for massive enterprise applications.

The "SDET & Infrastructure" Premium
If you only know how to click through a UI and report bugs manually, your salary will cap out around $75,000. To push past $140,000, you must become an SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test). If you can build a custom testing framework from scratch in Java or TypeScript, write mock backend servers for testing, and integrate everything seamlessly into a cloud-based CI/CD pipeline, you transition into a highly paid engineering role.
